Team Uranus Reunion

Two weeks ago, I was roused from my dreamless sleep my my cell's message tone. I groggily grabbed it and read Raf's message. They were planning to have a reunion. I replied immediately saying that I'd go and slumped back to sleep.

The following Saturday, I headed for the Creativity Lounge to transcribe my Wilson Tortosa interview. Before I went home I dropped by McDonald's, Greenbelt to meet up with John. So we just talked and talked for what felt was 30 mins but was already past an hour. So I had bid him farewell and lunged for the next bus to Ortigas.

When I got to Maru, our reunion venue. An hour later -I wanted to go to Saguijo and watch AdmitOne instead- Jinx and Jigs who were both already making fun of me even before they talked to me, approached. Ahh, I missed that. A few more chats and Raf and Mimi came in next. Marilou followed. Apparently that was the reunion, just us.

Blooming MarilouI didn't know Maru was a karaoke bar. And I really don't sing, at least not anymore. But we had fun and bonds were reconnected, and that was the point.
Jinxy A few Earth ,Wind&Fires, some Beatles and one particularly creepy Willie Revillame later, we headed to Starbucks in Metrowalk where I had a tall cream-based caramel-frappe (YUM), and Jinx had a venti Rhumba. By the time the rhumba was takin effect (Jinx was really shaking and her chest was palpitating) we were knee-deep in ghost stories. These were personal experiences which makes them all the more creepier -including one particularly nerve-numbing tale about a swaying ink-black man.

    bilyran creepy bilyaran
Before we went home we "dropped" by Gutson's and watched Jinx and Raff slug it out on the billiard table.

I got home around 6:00 am.

I've been tagged! (stolen from BrattyBlue)

    --------------

Write 20 random things about you and tag as many people as the number of minutes you took in doing this.

    1. I became an F. Sionil Jose fan -one of the major reasons why I went to UST in the first place- since I read Gagamba during high school for our book report. He's my favorite local author.

    2. Unlike most people out there, Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code failed to capture my fascination. The content was amusing and the conspiracy theories he had sewed together were altogether amusing. But I find his storytelling style was nothing more than common. I've read better material by some less known, less accomplished authors.

    3. I once had a crush on a video game character: Sakura from the Street Fighter games. I'm still trying to move on with Psylocke's death, though.

    4. My call center work ruined my patience and my hearing. Now I can't understand anything when I some other noises in the room- all I could hear are some vague murmuring. And then I get irritated. GRRR!

    5. I recently finished a song while standing in line to buy an MRT ticket. I have yet to write it down, polish the melody, tempo and think of a title.

    6. Despite looking like a drug addict, war freak and sex maniac (as I was told by close friends), I have got to be the nicest person you can meet on the street. In other words, uto-uto.

    7. I am addicted to Photoshop.

    8. I think I've stopped growing. Although I've been told I look fairly young when I shave.

    9. I don't usually smile in pictures...

    10. My favorite colors: black, gray, gree, red and blue.

    11. I no longer drink coffee. I prefer mint green tea, steamed milk or milk-based caramel frappe whenever I'm in some coffee shop.

    12. I need to buy a new cellphone. The one I'm using right now has its phone memory busted. I also want to have Twisted Halo's Public Service Announcement as a ring tone, something my Samsung won't allow.

    13. If you missed my CAT and ROTC days, you'll probably never get a chance to see me wear a hat. Except when I'm at home, I'll never wear sandals or flipflops. I'll never have my head shaved...unless you pay me 1M or hold a gun to my head.

    14. My high school friends once mentioned how nice, sweet and thoughtful I was...my current friends disagree, in fact they think I was lying.

    15. I can't sing a normal song without being interrupted by a bout of cough or some sneezing fit.

    16. Despite appearing to be unfeeling and cold, I'm too caring for me to admit.

    17. I'm allergic to sea food. I get an unpleasant stomach when I eat anything with gata except laing. I'll never be a food critic. I sneeze too easily because I have rhinitis. I sneeze whenever it's cold, too hot, when it's too bright, when it's dusty or I smell someone's strong cologne/perfume (I call "dinurog na langgam"). Which is why I don't by bottles of perfume or cologe.

    18. Even after years of knowing some band members who I simply look up to, I've never had any fan pictures taken with them.

    19. I don't know why, but I seem to have lost my love for beer and other alocoholic drinks. I miss the idea of me drinking, but not the drinks. Labo.

    20. Around 80% of what I know and do today are self-taught. I never did get to attend any special courses for these. And the ones that I did get to learn from attending classes lay unused.

    Fun Pix

Some random pics from the recent gigs I attended...

All these picture can also be found at My Phlog Account

    Re-Rewind!

I just chanced upon Debbie's Friendster account (The Girl Formerly Known As Divine) and found this pic. Ulk!

This was taken poco mas o menos a year ago when my team at Ambergris went to Puerto Gallera for a Team Building (our most expensive one yet)

We were tripping by the beach near the "bars" when somebody shouted "PICTURE!" So I smiled a wide grin (which I don't normally do), which by some weird enigmatic force suited me to a point that I could virtually go as close as calling myself cute in this shot (whew! that's a rarity!)

What I don't get is that I don't really recall being this wide...I know I'm worlds away from being thin but NOT this wide! My friends here looked pretty normal so I doubt that the picture got stretched.

And it's because of this shot, that I have decided (pigilan nyo ako) to go on a diet. Yes, for the Nth time I will attempt to lower my food intake and increase my physical activities.

    Nyahaha!
    The Undrunken Shot

This is a picture taken during Jal's birthday gig last Monday over at Mayric's (kung saan binaha ang EspaƱa -so not surprised- kaya tumugtog si Ebe nang nakayapak).

Believe it or not, I did not drink any alcoholic beverage that night. The Red Horse bottle in front of you is not mine. Defensive ba?

BTW, I stole this picture from THIS SITE

I really had fun that night. I got to see and hang out with the other Sugarfreeks I didn't realize I missed.

Informal Writing for Grade School Pupils

My Terno Au Go Go Fieldtrip
    by greyweed

Last Saturday I went to Sagiojo in Makati with Reza, where we met up with Michael and Lei. We attended Terno Au Go Go with 20 bands performing. We watched Monsterbot, Up Dharma Down, SVC, Chili Tees, Nancy Drool, Makopa, Drip, the Purplechickens and a lot more.

I was almost in heaven when I finally got to meet Armi (Up Dharma Down) and Beng (Drip).

After almost nine hours of being cooped up inside that small space (AKA the cafe area) and as I busied myself watching SVC the three of them were so obviously groggy, squatting on the tableless, chairless floor.

After the gig we went to McDonald's along Chino Roces Ext. and stayed there until sunup.

    The end.

    This is depressing.

I was in ComicQuest, Megamall yesterday when I bumped into Monmon. A few laughs
and then he told me about WOLFMANN. I couldn't believe it.

I was happy to find the comicbooks I've been looking for and here comes Mon with a dapressing news.

Up until last night I was still hoping it wasn't true. Nakakapanghinayang.

We've only chatted a couple of times, online and during a gig or two. He was
always there with a reply everytime I'd rant during work. Even if it wasn't
allowed, I listed my office email to this mailing list, because it's one of the
few things that kept work bearable.

I attended the album launch and told him that I'd buy a shirt. I told myself that
I'd have my copy of Diner autopgraphed one of these days. And then I got too busy. And now it's too late for those.

Minsan nga lang tayo nakapag-usap, pero panghabang-buhay na ang impluwensya mo.

I'd like to toast this bottle of beer for you
    Thank you
Thank youCuz this last bottle of beer is on me
    It's on me
    -Beer, Wolfmann
